Are Blacklight Blonde Science products safe for colour-treated hair?

Blacklight Blonde Science products are formulated with colour-treated and chemically processed hair in mind. Whether your hair has been lightened, highlighted, toned, or coloured, our products are designed to be gentle enough for regular use while still delivering targeted results. In fact, lightened and colour-treated hair often benefits the most from our Hydrating and Neutralizing lines, as these hair types tend to be more porous and prone to dryness and brassiness.

How many uses can I get out of a full-size bottle?

For most people washing their hair 2–3 times per week, a 300 ml / 10.1 fl. oz-size shampoo and a 200 ml / 6.8 fl. oz-size conditioner will typically last around 6–8 weeks. The spray treatments 225 ml / 7.6 fl. oz tend to last even longer — usually 8–10 weeks with regular every-other-day use. Of course, this can vary depending on your hair length and thickness. If you have longer or thicker hair, you may find the 946 ml size is a better fit. Not sure which size is right for you? Start with a mini to get a feel for how quickly you use it before committing to the full size!

Can I mix and match products from different lines?

Absolutely! Our product lines are designed to complement one another, and mixing and matching is encouraged based on your hair's needs. For example, you might pair the Violet Shampoo with the Hydrating Conditioner to tone your colour while keeping moisture levels balanced. Or use the 18-in-1 Beautifier as a daily leave-in alongside your Blue or Violet routine. Think of each product as part of a customizable regimen — there's no wrong combination.

Should I use the Blue or Violet products — what's the difference?

A simple rule of thumb: if your unwanted tones look yellow, reach for Violet. If they look orange or copper, reach for Blue. Not sure which one is right for you? Both lines are available in mini sizes so you can try before you commit to the full size.

Where is your company located?

Our office, warehouse, and production facility are all based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. We proudly formulate and manufacture our products in-house, all under one roof—powered by one passionate team.

Are your products cruelty-free?

We’re committed to creating professional-quality haircare that delivers real results—without the premium price tag. And of course, our products are cruelty-free. No animal testing here… we prefer to test on happy humans instead!

Orders

How long is the order processing time?

Orders are typically prepared for shipment within 24–48 hours, and most leave our warehouse within just one business day. We process orders Monday through Friday, so orders placed after 1 PM EST on Friday will ship the following Monday. If we ever anticipate a longer delay, we’ll reach out to you by email to keep you informed.

What forms of payments do you accept?

Blacklight Blonde Science accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, PayPal, SHOP and Google Pay. If you’re having any issues completing your payment, simply reach out to our customer service team — we’ll be happy to assist you.

Do you charge sales tax?

We charge sales tax to Canadian provinces as required by law. US orders are not subject to any taxes.

What if my product arrives damaged or defective?

We ask that you please inspect your item as soon as it arrives. If you notice any damage from shipping, let us know right away. If you discover a manufacturing defect that isn’t related to transport, please contact our customer service team for assistance.

Shipping

How can I track my order?

As soon as your order is ready for shipment, we’ll send you an email with your tracking details. You can follow your package’s progress directly on the carrier’s tracking page.

What carriers do you use to ship orders?

All Canadian orders are shipped with Canada Post and all US orders are shipped with FedEx. If for some reason your order is shipped with a different carrier, we will make sure to contact you before your order leaves our warehouse.

Is my order eligible for free shipping?

If your order subtotal (after discounts, before tax) is $49.00 or more, you’ll enjoy FREE standard shipping! This offer applies to delivery addresses within Canada & the continental United States only.

Please note: Free shipping is not available for orders going to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, APO/FPO, Yukon, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.

My order is less than $50. What will my shipping fee be?

We charge a small shipping fee of $10 on all orders that are under $50. The shipping fee will be automatically applied at checkout after you enter your shipping address.

Returns

Can I return a product?

Your satisfaction is important to us. If your purchase isn’t quite right, simply contact our customer service team to request a return authorization and instructions.
Most products can be returned within 30 days, provided they are unused, unopened, and in their original packaging.

There was an error in my order. What should I do?

If there’s ever an error with your order, don’t worry — we’ll make it right! Just reach out to our customer service team, and one of our team members will gladly assist you in resolving the issue.
